David has recently (June 2023) taken up the post of Director at Aberystwyth Arts Centre (AAC), having led a number of leading cultural and artistic organisations.

AAC is Wales’ largest arts centre and recognised as a 'national flagship for the arts'. It has a wide-ranging artistic programme, both producing and presenting, across all art forms and is recognised as a national centre for arts development. Aberystwyth Arts Centre is a department of Aberystwyth University and a member of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

David is also Co-Director of Porter’s Cardiff, an events led bar and social space in Cardiff. Awards include: National Runner Up on The Observer / Guardian ‘Best Place to Drink’ Food Monthly Annual Awards (2013-17), Winner of the Best Watering Hole Category at the inaugural Cardiff Life Awards in 2014 and PRS Music Makeover prize-winner.

In 2015 Porter’s welcomed Wales’ first permanent Pub Theatre and ‘The Other Room’ became part of the unique entertainment offer. This partnership won the Arts and Small Business Award from Arts and Business Cymru with The Other Room also being awarded 5 Wales Theatre Awards and The Stage’s Fringe Theatre of The Year, the first time by a venue outside of London – all in its first year.

Between 2019 and 2023 David was Theatre Director at Theatr Brycheiniog, an Arts Centre in Brecon in the heart of mid-Wales with 474 seat main stage, 120 capacity studio space and gallery. It has an all year-round varied programme of theatre, dance, music and visual art and is a destination for visitors within the Brecon Beacon’s National Park.

Other roles include: Executive Director at Actorsworkshop, Deputy Director at National Dance Company Wales, Guest lecturer at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Producing Director at Moving Being Limited and Administrator at The Cardiff International Festival of Musical Theatre.

David is a Fellow of the Clore Leadership Programme and the Royal Society of Arts. He was originally an Actor before moving into producing and management studying Drama at Aberystwyth University and Arts Management at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
