Summary

Job Title:  Hynt Arbitration Administrator
Resonsible to:  Project Administrator (at Creu Cymru)
Fee:  £542.50 per month for 6 months (£3,255 in total)
Hours of work:  Flexible based on workload (applications referred as needed)  A minimum of 10hrs / maximum of 15 hrs per month
Place of work:  Creu Cymru does not have a permanent office base.  The main place of work will be your home address
Notice period:  1 month on either side

The Freelance Hynt Arbitration Administrator will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the Hynt arbitration process. Arbitration supports individuals whose access needs do not meet the automatic eligibility criteria or require more than one complimentary companion ticket. The administrator ensures that applications are reviewed fairly, efficiently, and in line with Hynt's commitment to accessibility and inclusion.

ABOUT HYNT
Hynt is an Arts Council of Wales initiative managed by Creu Cymru. It ensures a consistent, accessible ticketing offer for individuals with impairments or specific access requirements at theatres and arts centres across Wales. The scheme provides a membership card that entitles holders to a complimentary companion ticket.

ARBITRATION
Arbitration is for customers who have access needs that are not represented in the automatic eligibility criteria or whose original application was rejected. Arbitration also enables Hynt to provide more than one free ticket for individuals who need more than 1 to 1 care. 

THE ARBITRATION PROCESS

  1. An application is received by The Card Network that needs to be referred to Arbitration
  2. The customer is informed that their application has been referred. The Hynt Arbitration Administrator is also informed and provided with the customer’s contact information.
  3. The Hynt Arbitration Administrator contacts the customer and starts the Arbitration process
  4. The Hynt Arbitration Administrator reaches a decision and informs The Card Network.
  5. The Card Network processes the application in line with any recommendations from the Hynt Arbitration Administrator, or (with input from the Hynt Arbitration Administrator) contacts the customer to inform them of the decision. If the customer has contacted the Hynt Project Administrator, they will also update the customer on the status of their application.
  6. The Hynt Project Administrator sent Arbitration figures through monthly updates from The Card Network and kept abreast of issues through reviews with the Hynt Arbitration Administrator

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor the arbitration process on behalf of Creu Cymru.
  • Review referred applications and communicate decisions to The Card Network for processing.
  • Liaise with applicants, providing clear updates on their arbitration status.
  • Ensure arbitration decisions align with Hynt's policies on accessibility and inclusion.
  • Maintain an appropriate quality assurance framework for arbitration.
  • Track trends and issues arising from arbitration cases, reporting insights to Creu Cymru to enhance the application process.
  • Participate in monthly reviews of the arbitration process with Creu Cymru.
  • Collaborate with Creu Cymru to ensure the arbitration system remains effective, inclusive, and fit for purpose.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of accessibility and disability rights, particularly in the arts sector.
  • Experience in case management, arbitration, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage sensitively with applicants.
  • Organised and detail-oriented, ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Lived experience of disability is highly desirable, as well as a strong commitment to accessibility and inclusion.
  • Experience in a similar administrative or advocacy role within the third sector, arts, or disability services is desirable.
