Open to Creu Cymru members, a cornerstone of Creu Cymru’s work is the Visits and Bursaries, a targeted programme of visits to performances, festivals and conferences.
This research informs the programmes of Creu Cymru members, impacting on the productions and performances they present to their audiences – as well as providing valuable professional development opportunities for theatre staff. Where possible, we rent rooms for the duration of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and these are available to Creu Cymru members at a discounted rate and also to professionals from outside our membership.
There have been regular curated visits to the London International Mime Festival, Cinars, Imaginate, GDIF and the AMA Conference. Individual members may also apply for a bursary towards costs of attending performance, conference and training opportunities.
Producers and individual members may also apply to the scheme.
I found the session extremely beneficial. My key learning from the day was the importance of authenticity and honesty in communicating accessibility and inclusivity to audiences. The session inspired me to find ways to communicate our actions, not just words, to consult diverse voices and listen to the lived experience of others. And to be aware of language and how different people will interpret the words we choose.
The benefit of discussing these topics with peers from other organisations was invaluable – thank you for a useful and constructive day.
