Event info
A gathering of theatre makers, producers and theatre programmers.
Mix up and Pitch will be an event made up of 5-minute theatre-maker pitches and 2-5-minute venue pitches aimed at sharing new ideas and encouraging the connections to make them happen. Pitches will come from theatre-makers, producers and venues in a spirit of openness and collaboration, ensuring it’s a valuable event whether you’re pitching or not.
Our first event will take place online, but we hope to run this in person in the future if the appetite is there.
The event will represent both established and newer voices aiming to tour across a range of scales, genres and audiences. It should provide an opportunity for both parties to discuss artistic plans 12-24 months in advance of the production stage and for promoters/venues/producers to feedback and express their interest.
Those wishing to take part will need to complete a simple application and go through a selection process.
To take part please complete the short application form below.
If you’re applying, we want to hear why you’re pitching and what relationships you hope to gain. This will be significant in your application as we’re passionate about venues and artists working together to create new work and learn from each other. And if you’re successful in securing a pitch, it will also help you to make the most of the day.
Whether your pitch is a fully fledged production ready to tour, or is at the R&D stage, or even simply an idea that you want to explore, share it with us in your application. We also welcome pitches from venues who may have new audience development schemes or simply want to update attendees on their programming plans and aspirations. By developing a mutual understanding of the work, venue and audience needs, the hope is to create touring pieces that are responsive and accessible.
